CAF CANADA $500 Grant for Member Clubs
CAF CANADA is launching a $500 grant for its member clubs to help subsidize registration fees for the CAN-Montreal Alliance 2027 Second Winter Edition.
The initiative is designed to support African football clubs during Montréal’s winter season by reducing the financial cost of participating in organized competition while giving clubs the opportunity to represent an African nation in a full 11v11 indoor football league.
For every CAF CANADA member club participating in CAN-Montreal Alliance, CAF CANADA will provide a $500 registration grant toward the club’s league participation.
This is a direct investment in clubs, players, football development and the wider African football community in Canada.
Supporting African Football Clubs Through the Winter
Winter presents a major challenge for football clubs in Montréal.
Outdoor fields become unavailable, operating costs increase and maintaining regular competitive football becomes more difficult.
The CAF CANADA Member Club Grant is intended to help clubs remain active during this period by reducing the cost of entering the CAN-Montreal Alliance indoor competition.
Through this initiative, CAF CANADA is helping member clubs continue to:
- Keep players active during the winter
- Participate in structured competitive football
- Develop their squads
- Increase player visibility
- Strengthen their club communities
- Represent African nations on the field
The goal is simple: make meaningful winter football more accessible to CAF CANADA member clubs.
A $500 Grant for Every CAF CANADA Member Club
CAF CANADA member clubs participating in the CAN-Montreal Alliance 2027 edition can apply for a $500 grant toward their registration fees.
The grant supports:
- CAN-Montreal Alliance league registration
- Winter football participation
- CAF CANADA member clubs
- African nation representation
- Full 11v11 indoor competition
The initiative is part of CAF CANADA’s broader commitment to strengthening African football clubs and creating more opportunities for players and communities across Canada.
Compete in the CAN-Montreal Alliance 2027
The CAN-Montreal Alliance Second Winter Edition brings clubs and organized teams together in Montréal for a multi-month indoor competition built around African nation representation.
This is not futsal or small-sided football.
It is full 11v11 football indoors.
Participating clubs can bring their existing squad, select an African nation to represent and compete throughout the winter under that national identity.
Players on a team do not all need to hold the nationality of the African country being represented. The CAN-Montreal model allows organized clubs and groups to represent a chosen African nation while helping more nations participate in the competition.
The league is built around:
- Full 11v11 indoor football
- African nation representation
- Competitive winter matches
- Club and player development
- Community engagement
- Football culture
- Player visibility
- Months of organized competition
Why CAF CANADA Is Supporting This Initiative
CAF CANADA believes that strong clubs create stronger football communities.
Supporting member clubs through the winter helps protect continuity, encourages participation and gives more players meaningful opportunities to compete.
The grant is therefore more than a registration subsidy.
It represents an investment in:
Clubs
Helping African football organizations remain active and competitive.
Players
Creating more opportunities to play, develop and gain visibility.
Communities
Bringing supporters, families and African communities together around football.
African Nation Representation
Giving clubs the opportunity to carry an African national identity into organized competition in Montréal.
